The Marais range was first supplied to bars and restaurants by breweries, in exchange for selling their beer. Whilst the arrangement came to an end in 1970, the desire and demand for these chairs and stools did not, and the design was formally reissued in 1986. An exhibition to celebrate their variety and longevity was held at the Centre Pompidou in 2008.
