Poul Volther was a well known and respected Danish designer of the mid century. He worked with Borge Mogensen and was supported by Hans Wegner. His most famous creation, the Corona Chair, was first conceived in 1961, and garnered little favourable press. Only when it was presented at the Cologne Fair and the Scandinavian Furniture Fair in 1997, more than thirty years later, did it finally become the resounding critical success it is today.
