Characterized by the dramatic arc of its stainless steel stem and a counter point provided by the solid marble base, the Arco lamp superseded the influence of Bauhaus’ “form follows function” methodology, commonly accepted by Castiglioni’s contemporaries. Instead the Arco lamp promotes design where form and function meet without sacrifice. Dimension is adjustable.

Designed in 1962 by Achille Castiglioni and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, the Arco lamp has enjoyed a steady increase in popularity in commercial, hospitality and residential applications. This may be attributed to the Arco Lamps dual functionality, a floor lamp which provides overhead lighting without the impediment of electrical rewiring and installation.

The Arco Lamp inspired by the street lights of mid 20th century Italy, may be utilised for ambient lighting in a dining room setting or task lighting for reading or study by adjusting light intensity accordingly.
